As a poor as a church mouse.

I am broke.

It can't get worse then what happened yesterday staring at my bank balance. But here i am, looking at my online statement and yes, things can get worse!

For the first time yesterday i managed to put my account into the red and it was really in the red. $1 into the red actually but still. So Optus decided to reach in and grab money out the day before. I miscalculated, i thought it'll be next week so i thought i had time to slowly go and put money into the account before they actually came for it. Sigh so now that they've actually done it, the bank has slapped me with a $50 penalty. sigh.

Hopefully that sums up the week that has been. Cause its been all about losing money and its really painful. On Tuesday i managed to somehow allow a $50 note slip out of my pockets which i suspect was cause i was so pissed to see a parking ticket on my windscreen that i took my keys out in a huff and thts when i fell out. The fine was for $20. Never knew Curtin Security was so efficient, but its a holiday! Theres heaps of parking everywhere why do you still need to issue parking fines? &^%$#@!

So yea, Saturday should traditionally be the end of the week so i hope thats the end of my lossing money streak. I so need to earn it back at work.

Have a good one.
Seeya.

Just felt like talking=)

Hello!

It's raining again.

The bad weather is back. Tomorrow's forecast is for thunderstorms and hail. HAIL!!!

It's times like this i wish i didn't stay in George James cause i don't have a covered garage. Sigh.. My poor car=(

Hopefully the weatherman's wrong this time round.

And i just got it serviced! It drives like a dream now, got Unc. Kai to give a real good servicing cause i was telling him i just didn't quite feel the power anymore and man did he do a good job=)

Mmmm... the car now hums quietly but efficiently. Love it!

Another interview tomorrow. Lets hope it goes well. I want a new suit! Mine looks so grandpa-ish. Pale dark grey. bleh.. The guys here all seem to wear really nice strippy ones. I want one! kinda like George's. mmmmmm...

I'll have to nail a job first before i can think about blowing more money. As it is, my bank balance is fast depleting itself with all those binge buying on ebay. Darn ebay. It's addictive.

Did i tell you i'm getting drum lessons again? This time i feel like i'm learning something i could really use. Maybe cause i'm being thought by someone closer to my age who built his playing around gospel music. But still he's a massive drummer by any standard so its really cool he's training me up. Exciting! Altho it also means i have to ruck into church at 7:15 in the morning when its still cold and damp to help set up the drum kit.. Brrrr.

Btw, i seriously wanna sell my kit. But i don't think i'll be advertising it or putting it up on ebay or at least till i get back so if you know of anyone do let me know. The kit minus the China and my Eliminator Double Pedals. RM 3.5K. Anyone?

Selling partly cause i've been playing on the church kit, Pearl Session series... Maple! MMMmm.. Very Very nice! plus the mixture of K and A custom cymbals! AAAAAaa.. sensational!

I guess i've ranted enough.

Have a nice day then.

Btw, Marc! I've decided.. I'm still pissed at you. Cause i can't find it here anymore! GRrrrr... *mumble*mumble*grumble*grumble*

MMMmmm...

Morning!
Rucked out of bed early this morning and felt like shit and at the same time excited. Ever had that feeling? I hate it. It puts you in a position whereby you just don't know how to feel and it doesn't help when they're on opposite ends of the mood spectrum.

Shitty cause i haven't really had a good nights rest in weeks. My mom's commenting how drained i'm looking these past few days everytime i turn on the webcam.

Shitty cause my IXUS 70 which was supposed to arrive today is out of stock. How can you sell when its out of stock on ebay? ^%$#@!

Shitty cause i'm broke.

Shitty cause i've got an exam in a coouple of hours and an assignment due on friday. Best part of it all is i don't have an inkling of what i should do for tht assignment. Sigh.. now i wish i had gone for classes. It's hard when politics classes are in one end of the campus and the rest of my subjects on the other. It's a whole 15 minute walk!

But, on the bright side of things there was the excitement which was cause i had an interview. And my, this sure trumps the other companies i've got interviews with just on the sheer grandeur of the office. I never knew The Old Swan Brewery housed the offices of Multipex and man was it stunning. The reception was quite imposing, dark wooden panel walls all around quite a big open and empty space with a fairly large reception table. Thats grand.

The boardrooms were just another step up and my interview was conducted fronting the river. Awesome. Now i can just hope i managed to convince the guy enough to hire me. Cause driving back on the Freeway i was just giving a thought into this whole thing. When they actually hire you, they expect you in for a fairly long time to actually guide you through the ropes of the business.

So here's my problem, The only reason why i take this course is to be a certified Valuer hence the huge specialization in my area of study. But.. all the jobs i've been applying for or am remotely interested in are in Development which would put part of my course to waste.

The thing is, its hard as hell to get a job in Valuation as compared to Development cause the WA market is booming. Oh well.. i'll just see how things go. I may not even get any of the jobs i'm interviewed for. Sure hope thats not the case.

Oh and my 26" LCD HDTV is finally on the way. I'm excited. Time to bring the Wii out to play!

Back to the books now.
Have A Nice Day!

Simplicity

I was watching a video, of a skit performed to the song Everything by Lifehouse which David sent in the mail sometime back and it really shattered me.

Video which is linked at the bottom of this post potrays a girl who shared such an intimate joyful reationship with God before the distractions of the world began to emerge. From relationships, money, addictions, vanity/peer pressure, and finally suicidal thoughts. Seemingly impossible obstacles which eventually hinders God from view.

But as watched the video again i began to realize something else which holds so true. The moments where you decide to try, to see what the world might offer is not as simple as just dipping your toes in the water. The damage would have been done from that very moment. The skit depicted that so well when the girl embraced the alcholism which to me symbolized an addiction for that one moment and when she realised what was going on, she turned back.. rid herself of the bottle but the damage was plain to see. The addiction had painted a scar or an obstacle on that connection to God. The chase for money all the other temporary highs of the world eventually building up in our lives.

Oft and again we'd turn back and remember that one person who loved us so much he gave the world up for but scars seemed so hard to breakforth from. Sometimes we give up, we think its too hard.

Let me personalize it, Sometimes i too want to give up. More often then not i wrestle with myself over the things i have done or have let into my life. The mistakes i've made. It just seems so insurmountable. I've tried, Oh i've tried.

Finding that glimmer of hope is all i need to continue to try ..but only to fail again.

But maybe thats the problem. It's not just a glimmer. Cause God is there, only has been and he's never going to give up hope in me so why should i content myself in finding a single ray of hope when Jesus took up the cross to calvary to set me free for all eternity. Is there a bigger promise then that that he'll lay his life down just to save me.

In the skit the character that potrayed God finally comes in between the girl and her demons and finally vanquishing them. All she ever needed to do was call out to him again, to fight her way back. She was never going to win the battle over her demons on her own, it took God and all he ever needed was for her to want him back in her life.

The word simplicity struck me troughout my time watching the video. And if you think about it, there really is all there is to it, the simplicity of God's undying love and its always us who complicate the matter when all there really is to know is His Love.

..Thousand times i've failed, still your mercy remains
Should I stumble again, I'm caught in your grace..

Jesus Loves Me & You=)

Wake up and smell the Tulips..

Spring is officially here!

The flowers are in bloom, the weather should be taking a turn for the better, it shouldn't be raining so much, but it was hailing in Murdoch. Hmmmm..

Anyways the day after Malaysia's National Day a few of us namely from 3 different cell groups decided to make a 24KM trip down south to Araluen where the Tulips have come out in full bloom! Not that i'm a big fan of flowers but its just the novelty of it to visit the botanical gardens on the first day of spring which also makes this post pretty outdated. Oh well.. on with things.

So, after starting the day right with a nice greasy breakfast at Hungry Jacks we all headed down Albany Highway, 4 cars when down first and 2 later in the morning. Jaclyn drove my 'Lala Chai' noisy exhaust Honda Civic which is STILL FOR SALE!

finally got there and took pictures. more pictures. and more pictures..

Of course, Malaysians are prone to making a fool of themselves. Philip Metzger is a Malaysian!

Iris decided to be considerably in practical for a trip to the botanical gardens..
My cell group.. minus, the Zambian/Malaysian and Kelvin

Adding to the noise

Friday nights would typically be spent in David's house for cell group. Something i won't really trade going for if i had a choice unless it was something huge.

And this time, it was something huge. Shu-Wen had bought me tickets to Adrenalin 2007, and at first mention i didn't really think much about. Sure it was a Youth Alive WA event but it couldn't really be any different from any other rally. Or so I thought. Two acts we're flown in from the states for the 31st August night rally; Pillar and Switchfoot. Yes, The 'Dare You To Move Switchfoot.

we managed to ruck up into Challenge Stadium just in time to watch Pillar blast the atmosphere a few decibles through the roof for starters. It was a good 40 minutes of hard rocking Gospel metal. They were pretty good. However, they just weren't my thing.

Some guy Preston walked up on stage and delivered quite a touching/heartfelt message quite typical of rallys but hey, who am I to say what God intends to do? Cause the streams of people that stood up and decided to turn their life to God was just amazing. Shu-Wen and I just sat there and watched a constant almost never ending line of young high schoolers walk past us to be ministered to. It was encouraging.

But what i really saw different from rallys here is the support thrown bwhind such events by the government. Youth Alive was able to go to schools to promote while the event went in line with the governments effort to curb its drug epidemic.

It wasn't long after when the Youth Alive band left the stage that Switchfoot came out. And man, they're every bit as incredible on their albums as they are live. The sheer intensity of their performance was enough to blow anyone away.
This was the first time i'm actually seeing a rock band live and i wasn't dissapointed one bit. It's quite hard to describe in words how great it was so the pictures should do the talking for now.

Fantastic..
I'm happy. Anyways, Worship Band audition tomorrow! scary.
Have A Nice Day
