My Obiter Dictum..

Good Day

I know i haven't been updating but seriously, how many people visit this place?
Been up to serious no good.

I'm starting to get stressed. Mid semester exams are just round the corner with accounts coming around on friday itself. I like to think myself as prepared but somehow rather it's always bothered me that even though my confidence is seriously on a high it doesn't get reflected in my results. An example of tht? SAM finals, ESL was just a mere case of over confidence the rest was just the same old story.

But i'll break the duck. This year will be turning point for me. I really have to get my act together and start putting up somce good results. University life is probably my last chance to get some good grades. I admit i'm not one to churn them out on a consistent basis let alone understand fast enough. But i'm motivated to really work hard now. So i'm just trying to not let this whole fire die out. Should really put an end to those Asia Club visits. it's really depleting my cash balance faster then expected. But then again, i'm really seeing the joy of pool. and for that I Thank Phuah and Danker, for everything else related to tht.... *&^%@#!

Anyways, in case you haven't already heard 'What A Name' is Metropolitan College's representative in the LG Campus Challenge!

To clue you in on things, What A Name is made up of 3 members. Me, Sean, and Tim. Both of whom have their pictures plastered in here on the earlier post. But anyways, meet team What A Name:

Er... No those aren't real. we kinda took out all the tobacco in them when Tim decided to stop smoking. Decided to help him and so..we just emptied the em' out. didn't work..he's back at it.

Anyways, i'm not gonna elaborate about the competition. You can just visit www.danker87.blogspot.com for that. If you want an in-depth look at it. Just ask us=)

Or, you can just wait till you see What A Name on 8TV when the actual Campus Challenge Kicks off. Our escapades on metro grounds didn't go unrewarded mind you.. A goodie bag with a wind breaker in it( which i find rather... not too nice) and the main thing a brand new:

Seriously, i've never won anything like that before in my life let alone win a competition of such scale. So it's really been great for me.

Now to update. The past few days have been nothin short of mundane. It's the same story day in day out. But for some reason i still do find the joys in just getting up and going to college. In a sense it makes me feel alive that yes, i still have a life that is mine to enjoy. I'm beginning to wake up reality. Everything that seems to pass me contradicts my personal drive. I guess it's time i let up and let things take its course. My dad said somethin over the course of dinner yesterday which had a profound effect on me. It put all the thoughts i've been having about the life i want to lead and the life that will be my testimony into perspective.

I guess, Shu-Wen's worries are finally sinking in. All her worries abt me being the compulsive materialistic driven person that i am is really starting to hit me. Is it worth it?

I'll stop rambling about that for now. I don't think it makes the slightest sense.

Right now, i just miss Shu-Wen so much. I really miss her just being my side. Although we hear from each other almost daily thru the internet or phone, it's just not the same when that someone special isn't there next to you physically to share your ups and downs and any random thought along the way.

Have a nice day everyone.

Good Morning..

Dear All,

All these while i was left hopeless and in the dumps. Unable to console myself due to the harsh reality of the circumstances i was placed. helplessly wailing to no avail...

Until...

Lo & Behold, i remembered i have a card reader!
And thus...let the good times roll!

so whats up with a card reader? it means my sad pathetic blog now gets a new lease on life! it gets pictures! taken from my beloved Nokia 6600 because the darn phone doesn't come with a cable and my comp doesn't have a bluetooth port. Thts all in the pass nonetheless...Haha! Yay! YaY!...YipppEEee!

Menjadikan senjata lelaki...? Wanita Dingin menjadi panas...?
The Wonders of the 6600, ...inside the toilet of a certain mamak.

Now for a proper entry..

Welcome to Metropolitan Part II

On a social level, i'm really enjoying myself at Metro. Honestly i am! Sure i miss the K3 guys cause now i'm deprived of 'makan' sessions! Remember how we used to walk to no end just eat french toast? for pork noodles? so on and so forth? yea..those we're the days. If you haven't guessed by now, Yea! I love eating still do! Now at Metro, the guys just don't seem intrested in eating. Except maybe for a particular soul who proudly exclaims Klang has the best Bak Kut Teh, but yea..doesn't eat much. Frankly, i'm now spending more money in Asia Club then i used to on food! Not complaining much tho but i don't see it continuing long.. but it sure is fun winning!

Now, let me introduce you to the main culprits that have attempted to brainwash my innocent mind with their morally questionable ideas and thoughts.
Meet Culprit #1
Timothy Danker:

Don't you love first impressions?

Ball player, Myvi driver, Pan Mee eater (I think Pan Mee was created by the Devil), likes cute girls, ... etc etc

Meet Culprit #2

The last person you'd want your mom to meet...(okay i'm being mean.)

Meet Sean Phuah:

I wanted to put a close up, but the only closeup was him studying! Yea..he does study..but he also tells you to....skip class?? tsk tsk...
Full time 'uptonogood-er', whoops me every single time at pool except yesterday, loaned me his manual car for 2 minutes, etc etc..

And so, you've met the 2 guys i've been hanging out with at metro. oh and yea... does Kirsty remember the Jack Jack picture i showed her?

haha. Anyways...

Yesterday was fun, i Won at pool...(i know i'm repeating myself but it is quite a feeling...almost euphoric!) i think its the first time i've actually beaten anyone over a few rounds. so its somethin to be proud of. On with things, after deciding with kirsty if she thought a certain girl playing pool alone was hot (Kirsty didn't think so..Neither did I, No one is hotter then Shu-Wen! hehe) we proceeded to college for the tutorial of the day. Accounting 100!

As we approached the concourse we were greeted by a celcom booth. Still high from enrolling ourselves into the LG Mobile's, Campus Life Competition the previous day we went straight for the booth to check it out. Turns out they were only selling starter kits for RM10 with a RM10 reload coupon inside. Heres where the fun part begins. Upon purchasing your starter kits, you're entitled to pick a piece of paper from a tank filled with worms (yea...those Fear-Factor-like-worms) for a chance to win an ipod shuffle! Yay! And so...

*holds Breath*

....
...
..
.

Yay! Foul smelling creepy crawlies! i grabbed a fistfull. i pushed them aside okay..just for kicks=).... And i won

A Mousepad!

Oh Joy..

That aside the rest of the day was normal. At night Marc and Sara came down to take me out! Yay. But at the expense of time spent with Shu-Wen on the phone. Sorry..
Sara looks cool in her new specs! Got tht edgy old-school look! haha...

I'm tired and i should study. but maybe after another nap. Today is thursday. It's free day!

I shall now leave you with a picture i took using my beloved 6600 in melbourne outside the supposedly good chinese dumpling shop situated in some alley of china town can't remember the name. But yea, this is what their menu says outside.

Don't we chinese redefine the word food?

Have a nice Day

Humans Need Sleep!

Good Morning.

It's Thursday! TGIT=)
Thursdays are my free days! Only thing mom now wants me to help out at the office on thursday. Oh well, makes me feel a tad bit better since Shu-Wen's heavist day is coincidentally Thursday.

Anyways, i'm here to ramble on about the Need For Sleep!
Waking up at 3am to go to whichever mamak to watch a dull affair between Arsenal and Madrid or the rather pathetic loss of Liverpool to Benfica is pure insanity. Although Bak Kut Teh did trigger the senses..

Hmmm...

Anyways, golf was alright this morning. Hit a couple of fairways but still mostly wayward shots and then came 1 momment of glory. Par 4, 330 m... hit a drive of abt 180m and took at 7 iron from there. almost made birdie!! had the ball not lipped out. Bugger... Everything else went downhill from there.

But you wanna know whats brilliant, i woke up at 6 to get ready for golf and merely half an hour before my sister came home from work. At 5:30 am! she came the previous day at 5am! How insane is that? And she leaves for work at 8+ every bloody day!
I mean how much sleep are you gonna deprive out of that poor girl?! 'Thats Audit' is what she'd usually say, but heck don't they have labour laws in this country? by the looks of it, there's none since her co-workers slog through just as much as her. And after 2 days of pure insane slave labour she manages to get an extra half hour at home before trudging back to work at 9:30.

Is that worth it?

I feel its a huge price to pay for so called 'initial hardship before i'm a qualified accountant'. But she's only got another half year to go since she was brilliant enough to go for 2 subjects a year and still ace them. she studies a month before the exams and still does well...
hmmm...i study 6 months before and i'm mediocre. Anyways, soon she should be able to leave tht shit hole they call an audit firm. (see why i hate accounts?) Even my parents are so worried that they keep persuading her to quit. My dad practically stays up waiting everytime my sister comes home after midnight.

But really, you go to a prestigious Uni, Melbourne Uni. Ace your entire final year subjects with H1D's and you come home with a nice certificate. An obscence amount of money spent which could rather well buy you a new decent home and you're brimming with confidence. Then you get employed and you're paid pittence.

Thats sad..

Haha, i'm rambling cause i just feel its really unfair for my sister to work so much.
oh well..

Sean demanded that i meantion him. So i will. The guy with the slightly 'off-centre' thinking actually allowed me to drive his manual car at lakeview (Marc is prolly laughing right now..he likens my manual driving to riding a horse). And a horse ride it was! seriously, the car jerked all around just like in those wild west movies. Clint Eastwood style minus the guns and cigars.

Y'know i'm really enjoying metro! Partly cause Danker keeps giving controversial suggestions in class. tsk tsk and Sean with his rather sadistic sexual abuse ideas in law.

Maybe one day when he gets his 'wahyu' he'll be guest blogging in here...
On second thought...

oh well, meeting Josh tmrw. maybe Go-Karting before. Collect Spm certs!

Have a nice day.

Good Day..

It was a great day today in college. Maybe not so great in an academic sense but still there's something really refreshing being around people and in college. Cause really people can really make your day. I read this really good book the other day, 'Tuesday with Morrie' which i conveniently took from marc. The book talks abt life through a man whose dying, various tuesday together with his student to talk abt what matters most. It's really inspiring.

But anyways, what really made my day further was looking at josh's blog. All those pictures, it was really great. K3 2005 really was something, it sort of like helped me grow up to expand my horizons in a way. For this i'm really thankful for everyone whom i've met there. I was inspired truly there as i learned more abt life outside but more importantly i learned about myself. I am what i am today because of people like you.

Oh, and i never quite explained why i missed Casanova last Friday. Sorry guys, i rushed home that day to help my mom do some showing. As you would have known by now, my parents are in the real estate business and my mom broke her ankle. So while her leg heals i'm tasked with helping her show houses. On tht particular day, i was showing houses and subsequently finished just in time for me to make it in to the cinema for the start of the movie in 5 minutes. Impossible no?

Anyways...

I wanted to write about somethin else.
But i can't remember anymore.
i'll try to get to it when i remember. For Now, IST100 assignment!

Up Up and Away...

Unless you've been confined in a cage/cave/ under a rock/ or whatever you may fancy, i'm sure by some sort of media you'd have known we are now paying a hefty 30 cents more for every meagre litre of petrol that our vehicles mercilessly guzzle.

Feeling the pinch?

Oh well, want me to let you in on a secret?
...Not much of a secret formula to allow you to pump petrol for free but at least it lets you stash RM50 note in your pocket for doing absolutely nothing.
Beats Adsense by a mile don't you think?

Well, if you're reading this chances are you already know me. So if you're interested, give me a call and i'll tell you how;)

If you don't know me, and you're interested..

Didn't your mom teach you never to trust strangers?

Hmmm...
Have a nice day. It's my day off college today..
