Adding to the noise

Friday nights would typically be spent in David's house for cell group. Something i won't really trade going for if i had a choice unless it was something huge.

And this time, it was something huge. Shu-Wen had bought me tickets to Adrenalin 2007, and at first mention i didn't really think much about. Sure it was a Youth Alive WA event but it couldn't really be any different from any other rally. Or so I thought. Two acts we're flown in from the states for the 31st August night rally; Pillar and Switchfoot. Yes, The 'Dare You To Move Switchfoot.

we managed to ruck up into Challenge Stadium just in time to watch Pillar blast the atmosphere a few decibles through the roof for starters. It was a good 40 minutes of hard rocking Gospel metal. They were pretty good. However, they just weren't my thing.

Some guy Preston walked up on stage and delivered quite a touching/heartfelt message quite typical of rallys but hey, who am I to say what God intends to do? Cause the streams of people that stood up and decided to turn their life to God was just amazing. Shu-Wen and I just sat there and watched a constant almost never ending line of young high schoolers walk past us to be ministered to. It was encouraging.

But what i really saw different from rallys here is the support thrown bwhind such events by the government. Youth Alive was able to go to schools to promote while the event went in line with the governments effort to curb its drug epidemic.

It wasn't long after when the Youth Alive band left the stage that Switchfoot came out. And man, they're every bit as incredible on their albums as they are live. The sheer intensity of their performance was enough to blow anyone away.
This was the first time i'm actually seeing a rock band live and i wasn't dissapointed one bit. It's quite hard to describe in words how great it was so the pictures should do the talking for now.

Fantastic..
I'm happy. Anyways, Worship Band audition tomorrow! scary.
Have A Nice Day
