We Made A Stand
I should be in church, or i should've been in church. It's been 2 weeks since i've sat in for a proper service other then Youth. Hmmm.. Sister conveniently forgot to wake me up and conveniently thought i told her i didn't wanna go.
Okay, so it's partly my fault for not waking up but... It's always a better alternative to pin the blame on somebody else=)
Yesterday was interesting in a sense, after youth i headed home to follow my folks to some party in Kemuning. Interestingly, i met Chronicles there. Haha..
While i was there, i made a call to the organizer of the gig we we're supposed to play at to tell her we we're pulling out. Didn't go too well though. She wasn't too pleased.
I gave her our reasons, but she thought it was a pretty lame excuse and that we might actually be having other commitments else where which is why we're pulling out. Fact it, there isn't any other commitment except to God. So it was pretty much the right thing. Although i feel a tinge of dissapointment that we may never be able to play for them ever again, cause she thinks she'll never be able to hire us again cause we give lame excuses but ovearll we know we're doing the right thing.
Our decision will ultimately be vindicated one day. I'm sure it will.
I don't think many people will really understand, cause allot of people have already expressed their dissagreements notably my sister. But all is still well.
But from now on, we'll really research on our gigs before accepting them. And when we do, we'll honour our promises be it good or bad. I think thats only ethical, right guys?
Anyways, on with things..
I was reading the papers this morning and came accross 2 articles which rally caught my attention.
The first being about the welfare abt the policemen. It's been a long running saga this one with the plight actually being brought forward about a week ago when a number of policemen with high qualifications we're actually leaving close, on, or even below the poverty line.
That just makes it tough reading don't you think? Allot of people subsequently just brush of this fact and say why bother abt the pay when you can earn more through other more questionable means?
But that really is the problem isn't it? Josh once posted a video he ripped off YouTube of a policeman in 'action'. They don't really have a choice based on the pittance they receive. But then again, it's still in no way right for us as a society to condone such acts.
But that just takes allot of the shine off some of the honest decent policemen that still patrol the streets for the sake of the community. It is only right for the graft to stop so the force can actually see the urgency to raise the welfare of these public servants.
If you can offer judges a high wage to prevent them from biasness why can't you do the same to these public servants?
Another article that caught my attention was about teenage moms.
Nothin to elaborate there. It's not rocket science but it did provide much food for thought.
Ahh.. yes, i'm getting into the rhythm of blogging. but i just can't seem to place into words everything i have spewing out of my mind. Hopefully i'll improve somewhat in the future.
Have a Nice Day!
