So this is the New Year?
Happy Chinese New Year.
I had a particularly different one this year. For the first time i was away from home without the festivities. Honestly, its quite sad but you don't feel it as much cause there isn't much atmosphere here to hype it up. But maybe thats the sad bit..
I'm not sure.
But I did spend New Year's eve at Shu-Wen's place for the usual reunion dinner. Food was good, we even had 'yee sang'. Somethin i look forward to every single year. I love that overpriced dish. Don't know why.
New year's day itself was spent in church in the morning before going to a wedding dinner at night down at Matilda Bay before adjourning to Subiaco. The setting was really nice, your typical every girl's fantasy of marrying under the trees in front of a clear blue lake. Romantic i'd say. But the ceremony was a far cry from the usual fan fare that comes along with weddings. This was more intimate and close which i guess is good.
After dinner, Shu-Wen and I helped clear up as did all the other OCF-ers. Too bad i won't be joining OCF, Zion's cell's are on friday's as well. First time i ever did such things, i guess it makes you more in touch with the wedding as in you're part of it. or some sort..
The fun part actually came after the wedding when I decided to be abit more adventurous and not take the usual way home and attempt another one cutting though Victoria Park.
Failed.
We ended up lost.
But it didn't take too long before we found our way back. So no worries there.
The second day of new year is the one which is entirely new to me. I was working on the second day of new year=( And business at the Kebab shop was overwhelming, but it was all good. It makes time pass faster anyways. Will be working again tmrw.
I finally went out with my housemates.
Went to a small party like at the bbq pits downstairs but it was really fun. The only odd thing was that i was the only asian among canadiens and americans. But they were nice and we went on to play beach volleyball. Now tht was fun. But Nora, my housemate is like pro.. she used to coach or somethin like tht. Won one game lost the other.
i have a strong urge to really work out, so i can do what Sean always does and take off his top. It'll make playing volleyball so much easier. And its just for tht reason and nothing else mind you=)
I really miss home right now. The friends, the New year, the food. Things are different here but its all part of the experience.
Oh, i'll just make the best of it.
Have A Nice Day.
Ps. Can't post any pictures. Sorry, Uni connection won't allot it.
