Riding on the cable car.
I watched Tokyo Drift today, and to me it was a great improvement from 2Fast 2Furious which was a considerable let down in respect to the initial hit. But again, it is your typical car movie, typical 'i-just-want-a-normal-life-guy' who gets tangled up so deep he has to fight his way out through...yes, you guessed it. Racing. Fast cars and girls make up the remainder of the plot. Oh and the guy gets the girl as well.
Surprise, surprise.
I did however like a line early in the movie which did get me thinking on the drive home. It went somewhere along the lines of:
"..See Barbie and ken there? They're gonna walk right outta here cause their parents are too well connected.."
That says allot about society, the monster we all took turns to nurture doesn't it? Guilty or not? that depends how deep your cable runs. This inevitably leads to cries of foul by the lesser connected folk which make up our vast majority.
We often find ourself saying stuff like "if he's daddy wasn't a somebody, he'd be just another nobody." True don't you think?
But stop and think if we were in those shoes. If you were a somebody and you are a dad. You know you can give your kid the best and one of those 'best' happen to be your network of the who's who.
My point is, we're all self centered. We gripe because we don't have that priviledge. We ostricize does who have such priviledges. But seriously, would you still be gripping if you were given such priviledge as well?
Maybe...
But, it's late... And the brain has just been emptied after the finals.
Have A Nice Day
